About the Discussion Forums The discussion forums are the heart of the "Looking Out for Yourself" community. This is where we learn from each other. We share our experiences, offer our opinions, and develop our self-reliance expertise together. Anyone who visits us can read the discussions, but only registered members can participate in them (don't worry; registration is easy). The watchword here is "fellowship," which the dictionary defines as "the companionship of individuals in a congenial atmosphere and on equal terms." Please honor our commitment to fellowship and goodwill as you engage in discussion here. Our discussion-area moderators don't enforce congeniality and equality with an iron hand, but we will let you know if you push the boundaries of our community standards. Of course, these standards will evolve over time as you, the members of the "Looking Out for Yourself" community, fine-tune the atmosphere. And we sincerely hope that you will make the discussion area your own. The "Looking Out for Yourself" staff will simply ensure that civility and tolerance make up the foundation of this environment. [Note: We used Web Crossing's conferencing software, which is used by Salon, the New York Times, Builder.com, and many other high-profile sites, to implement the discussion forums.]
