Internet Marketing Background

I started marketing online in 1989, browsing the web before it existed (I found an HTML document at the CERN WAIS site in 1990, several months before the first web browser was created), building web sites in 1994, managing web development and internet marketing programs programs in 1996, and practicing search engine optimization in 1998. One highlight of my early internet days was being called a “marketing guru” by internet business pioneer Mark Welch.

About This Website

This site has been around in one incarnation or another since 1994. The first version of the site was hand-coded using a fountain pen and HTML 0.1, working by candlelight and inputting the data with punch cards into a Univac mainframe computer. Thankfully, web publishing tools have improved in the past 15 years, and I am very happy to now be using WordPress and the Thesis Theme to present this information to you.
