Empty Bowls is an innovative non-profit started by an art teacher in Michigan in the early 1990s. Ceramic artists create and donate hand-crafted bowls and then serve a simple meal in them at a fund-raising dinner. All of the proceeds go to local food banks and soup kitchens.
